From her choice of career in nursing to volunteering in her free time, Mila Woodings was passionate about caring for others in all aspects of her life. At a young age, Mila wanted to be a nurse and achieved this goal after immigrating to the United States and years of hard work. After Mila passed on after a struggle with cancer, her family has chosen to honor her legacy through a Memorial scholarship highlighting those pursing their nursing career.
One of Mila’s support networks throughout her professional career was the Philippine Nurses Association of Indiana. PNA-IN’s mission is to unify nurses, promote professional growth among its members, and provide health information and educational services to the community. This wonderful organization to open to all nursing professionals – those with and without Filipino backgrounds.
